Our Story

Professor Lucas Rubbo and Pete Deeley started The Jiu Jitsu Mindset Podcast in June of 2022. Their goal was to inspire people to start their Jiu Jitsu journey, or to stick with it. This online academy is intended to inspire, instruct and entertain athletes when they are outside the gym so that they always feel connected to the Jiu Jitsu lifestyle.

Get Comfortable

Being Uncomfortable

In Jiu Jitsu, kids face challenges that push them out of their comfort zones, both physically and mentally. Learning to "get comfortable being uncomfortable" teaches them resilience, problem-solving, and adaptability. As they grapple with difficult positions or opponents, they discover how to stay calm under pressure, an invaluable skill for life outside the gym. This discomfort builds confidence and mental toughness, helping them tackle school, social situations, and future challenges with a positive mindset. Jiu Jitsu nurtures personal growth by showing kids that discomfort leads to progress, fostering a sense of determination and self-assurance that extends far beyond the mat.
